People’s Theatre Association is the association of children, youth and adult theatre of Bangladesh which has been established on the 1st of January 1990. The association has a nationwide theatre and cultural network to develop artistic and aesthetic standard of the theatre organizing festivals, workshops, seminars, conferences, policy debates, advocacy etc.

In the last 35 years, the association organizes 15 festivals, more than 700 workshops in the different parts of the country. PTA participated in many festivals, workshops, seminars, meetings, congresses in the different parts of the world, e.g. USA, Canada, Cuba, UK, Monaco, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Spain, Greece, Austria, Australia, Japan, China, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, India, Nepal, Iran, Turkey, Laos, South Korea, Sweden, Denmark.

PTA organises Asian Theatre Summit 2 times to expose the vibrant theatre traditions and history of Asian region.

PTA and its associate Rakkhal executed the Children’s Voice project under children fund by Sweden SIDA, also by Kindernotheilfe (KNH) Arts by children, Germany. PTA played very important role to popularize the theatre of Bangladesh in abroad.
