Performance Art Workshop – Exploring Expression Beyond Boundaries
The Performance Art Workshop, organized by the People’s Theatre Association (PTA), offered a transformative learning space for young performers to explore unconventional and boundary-breaking methods of artistic expression. Focused on the intersection of art and activism, the workshop trained participants in using their bodies, gestures, voices, silence, and presence to communicate emotions, challenge social norms, and tell stories that matter.
Facilitated by experienced artists and theatre practitioners, the workshop emphasized experimentation, spontaneity, and the use of everyday objects, public space, and abstract ideas in performance. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their identities, experiences, and surroundings to create original, thought-provoking work.
Through individual exercises, group collaborations, and live demonstrations, the workshop nurtured creativity, critical thinking, and confidence. It helped build a new generation of performance artists capable of using their art to inspire dialogue, empathy, and change.
This initiative is part of PTA’s broader mission to empower youth through the arts, promote freedom of expression, and create safe spaces for artistic innovation
